Designing with Web Annotations
The world wide web was built by linking documents to each other. Google rose to dominance by recognizing this power and building its ranking algorithm out of these interlinked relationships. In February 2017, the W3C recommended a new standard that takes the interlaced structure of the web to a new level: web annotations.
By placing notes /anywhere/ and linking them to the context of /any/ online resource, new layers of rich hypertextual discovery and communication can take place.
This session will review the basics of web annotations and present a case study, scienceintheclassroom.org [1], that demonstrates how to create web annotations with the hypothes.is [2] service and embed and style them to match the theme and content of your Drupal site.
